Basics of NMR-based structural biology

Vorlesung SS 19 (Beginn 8.5.2019)

Introduction to NMR-based structural biology: Exploring the active conformation of biomolecules and their interaction with potential ligands. This class will be focused on the use of NMR spectroscopy to elucidate the structure of biomolecules such as peptides/proteins and carbohydrates (i.e. oligosaccharides and polysaccharides). An overview of the most common NMR protocols employed to extract structural information from experimental NMR data will be presented in detail.


The interaction between biomacromolecules and natural and/or synthetic ligands can also be explored by NMR spectroscopy. Thus, most up-to-date NMR methods applied for such studies in the field of drug discovery will be discussed
