Measurement time on the Avance 400


  • Users from all institutes have access to the spectrometer.
  • Booking status of the spectrometer can be checked by all users through the Scheduling System. Trained users can sign up for instrument time, other users can make assignments by contacting an operator.
  • Service and hands-on measurements: On weekdays, the DRX 500 is operated from 9 am - 4.30 pm by D. Naumann and K. Koenig. Samples can be submitted to the operator from 8.30 am - 3.30 pm (fridays until 1 pm). In the afternoon from 5 pm (fridays from 3 pm), trained users can run their experiments, if there is no over night sample running.
  • Distribution and booking of instrument time: For measurements performed by an operator, minimum lenght of a timeslot assigned is 1 hour and can be booked 1 day ahead through the operator. For special requirements (i.e. v.t., kinetics or short-lived intermediates) time can be reserved up to 1 week ahead by contacting an operator for an appointment.
    Instrument time during night shifts and weekends can be booked up to one week ahead by trained users only. Every user can only book up to one night shift per week. Time is assigned in slots of minimum 1 hour.
